At Biocatalysts we have developed and applied, molecular biology to facilitate the discovery and development of novel enzymes. We have extensive experience of cloning enzymes into both proprietary and commercially available E. coli expression systems, with a range of expression hosts and vectors at our disposal. For eukaryotic enzymes, or those that prove troublesome in E. coli, we have a license-free Pichia pastoris expression system.

Our technical capabilities go beyond just producing expression constructs, to screening transformants for optimal expression conditions, focusing our efforts on producing the maximum possible yield of soluble, active enzyme.

The application of our cloning know-how has led to in-house development of a number of recombinant enzymes, as well as a rapidly growing number of hugely successful customer-led projects through our contract manufacture services.
