Possessing a Science Degree you will have a proven track record of commercially orientated, primary and secondary research, ability to transfer knowledge to stakeholders and the ability to interpret and implement key data. You will be a conscientious self starter, self-confident, friendly and work well within a target driven environment.
Ideally you will be have a good understanding of industrial enzymes and a knowledge of the food industry, along with the desire to continually learn and develop within the role relevant to the Company’s needs.

Molecular Cloning & Protein Expression Scientist

We are looking to recruit a person who has drive to achieve results in a friendly manner but at the same time, maintains quality and standards.
Reporting to the Production & Development Manager, this challenging production based role in this rapidly expanding company, offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a small, customer focused team completing Speciality Production projects to produce enzyme products for our customers.
We are essentially looking for someone with a Masters or PhD in a Biochemistry related subject along with significant theoretical and practical experience in molecular cloning, bioinformatics, fermentation including native and recombinant protein expression, protein characterisation in prokaryotic expression systems.
You will have project management skills, provide technical support, have the capacity to analyse situations, diagnose problems and produce logical, practical and cost effective solutions to the team. You will have a questioning approach to your work, be a strong communicator and work flexibly and co-operatively with the production team.
You will be encouraged to realise your full potential and must have the desire to continually learn and develop within the role relevant to the Company needs.

We are looking to recruit a person who has drive to achieve results in a friendly manner but at the same time, maintains quality and standards.
Reporting to the New Product Development Manager, this challenging research role in this rapidly expanding company, offers a unique opportunity to work on an exclusive, research programme, within a specific timescale and develop an excellent commercial partnership with one of our key customers. During this period, you will look into the possibility of developing novel enzymes into different sectors and become one of the New Product Development team.
We are essentially looking for someone with a BSc, MSc or MRes in a Biochemistry related subject along with knowledge of enzymes, assay development, liquid handling in the laboratory.
Ideally you will have practical experience of enzymes, enzyme assay design, bioinformatics, molecular biology skills (particularly molecular cloning), protein expression and scientific literature reviews.
You will have project management skills, be conscientious, results driven and creative.
You will be encouraged to realise your full potential and must have the desire to continually learn and develop within the role relevant to the Company needs.

This role demands a fast learner, with a high work output and willingness to travel worldwide on a regular basis. You will be responsible for winning new business for new products to new markets and food applications.
Target driven and comfortable working within a structured environment; you will proactively progress and close sales opportunities. You will use the Biocatalysts expert support team along with your own technical knowledge to solve customers’ process problems.
You will have real presence, influence, and tenacity for a long sales process and be able to interact with people from different cultures. Your ability to present, communicate and make things happen will be second to none. This role will suit someone who likes relationship building, project management and technical solution sales. You will bring along excellent sales and negotiation skills in order to achieve and exceed target growth.
Technical sales experience in food ingredients would be an advantage but a science or food technology degree is essential.
