Managing Director's Health & Safety Policy Statement Introduction This statement has been prepared in accordance with section 2(3) of The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. General Policy My Management team and I are committed to ensure that the highest standard of health, safety, and welfare for our employees and visitors is maintained. Our health and safety control activities are structured to allow continual improvement of both the management system and all the processes necessary for the production and manufacture of our enzymes. We will comply with statutory requirements and any other standards to which we subscribe, and will ensure that any guidance given will be taken into account to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all. Our goal is to minimise risk and to create an environment where employees, clients, contractors, visitors and members of the public alike are not exposed to hazards from our activities. We will achieve this goal by the setting and reviewing of Health & Safety Objectives and Targets. My management team and I have a responsibility to implement this policy by ensuring:
Employee Responsibilities Every employee has had this policy statement communicated to them. All Biocatalysts employees have a responsibility for the health and safety of themselves and all other company members. They are to ensure that any health and safety issue, no matter how small, is communicated to their line manager to allow timely remedial action. This will allow continual health and safety improvement which is an essential element of our health and safety Management System. A safe and healthy working environment can only be achieved with the co-operation of all employees. We insist our employees participate fully in order for us to ensure our health and safety requirements are followed by:
Specific Management Responsibilities Overall responsibility for the health and safety of all staff rests with me however; I have delegated responsibility for its implementation to members of my Management team, health & safety committee and Staff as defined within the health and safety Organisational table. My health and safety Management Directive also delegates responsibilities. This Policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure its continuing suitability and effectiveness.
